When attempts to contact her failed, the residents’ association informed her husband, who was in Chennai at the time. Unable to assist immediately, he advised authorities to intervene.
Hyderabad police forced entry into her home and found Kalpana unconscious. She was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where she is currently under medical care, reportedly on ventilator support.
