Orange Candy – A Light-Hearted Play with a Lasting Message

At the heart of the story is Madhav, a 10-year-old boy with the wisdom of an old soul. His Krishna-like presence brings out truths in the simplest of ways — but only for those who are willing to listen and truly absorb them.

Madhav meets Yasho, and their unlikely friendship becomes the emotional core of the play. Through their bond, both their lives begin to change. Madhav shows Yasho the joy in little things, while Yasho introduces him to the warmth of human connection. Their journey reminds us that bonds of love can often run deeper than bonds of blood.

Written and directed by Ronak Sharma Gupta, Orange Candy is both playful and profound. Ronak isn’t just a theatre-maker — she’s also a filmmaker who has directed music videos, documentaries, short series and ad films. Her passion for storytelling runs deep, and this play is an extension of that same creative fire.

Through her company Hasya Hetu Creation (which means “for happienss ”), Ronak works actively to promote mental wellness and emotional awareness. All her works carry her signature blend — a dose of joy with a hidden, meaningful message. Whether it’s through film or theatre, her mission remains the same: spread happiness and challenge norms with sensitivity and depth.
